eBay is one of the best-known online marketplaces worldwide and gives you access to a large, internationally active community of buyers. With the eBay integration, you automatically synchronize orders, shipping notifications, and stock levels between Xentral and eBay. You process your eBay orders in Xentral like all other orders, and eBay always displays the stock you can actually deliver.
The integration includes three features. You select them in the wizard when you create the integration and can change them later in the general settings:
-
Synchronize stocks (Xentral > sales channel): Xentral reports the stock from one or more warehouses to eBay. You can take reservations, open orders, the stock correction value, or a pseudo stock number into account.
-
Synchronize orders (sales channel > Xentral): Xentral imports the orders from the eBay marketplaces you select, e.g., ebay.de, ebay.at, or ebay.co.uk. Xentral assigns customers, payment methods, shipping methods, shipping costs, discounts, and taxes according to your rules.
-
Synchronize order statuses and tracking (Xentral > sales channel): As soon as tracking information is available in Xentral, Xentral reports the shipment to eBay with the shipping service provider and the tracking number.
Xentral receives new orders and status changes through notifications from eBay (eBay events). This way, orders arrive in Xentral without delay.
-
Listing products on eBay (listings): The integration does not create offers on eBay and does not change product data such as title, description, or images.
-
Transferring prices: The integration has no feature for prices. You maintain prices on eBay.
-
Transferring receipts: The integration does not transfer invoice documents to eBay.
-
eBay Payments: Does not run through the eBay integration.
If you need a function that the standard does not cover, you can extend the integration with customizing. See the article Customizing with Xentral Flows
-
You have an eBay seller account and can log in to eBay. You establish the connection in the wizard by authorizing Xentral on eBay. You do not need an API key.
-
You have administrator rights in Xentral.
-
You have prepared Xentral: A project, postage items, discount items, payment methods, and shipping methods are created. Postage and discount items are mandatory for the order import. See the article Preparing Xentral for the integration.
-
The product numbers in Xentral match the SKUs of your eBay offers, or you have stored external numbers. This is the only way Xentral can assign stock to the correct offer. See the article Working with different product numbers in the shop/marketplace and in Xentral.
-
You can use the eBay integration in every Xentral plan. As a new customer, you also create it directly in the new interface.
The eBay integration is a standard Xentral integration and is free of charge. With usage-based pricing, it counts neither as a flow nor as an API call and does not use up your included volume. If you extend the integration with customizing, the customizing counts as a flow. See the article Costs, plans and limits
Note
Are you still using the previous eBay integration via the shop importer or the eBay app? Xentral switches you to the new integration and informs you of the date beforehand. Before the switch, you authorize the new integration once with your eBay account. Also check the following points in advance:
-
If you use multiple eBay integrations, Xentral switches all of them at the same time. Therefore, authorize each of your eBay integrations beforehand.
-
Do not change the name of your previous eBay integration. Otherwise, the tracking feedback does not work.
-
Check the payment method, the marking of postage and discount items, and the external numbers: for matrix products the eBay offer number, for variants the eBay SKU.
-
If you use a pseudo stock formula for multiple channels, implement it as a flow. If you use different formulas per channel, contact your Xentral contact person before the switch.
-
Smarty scripts no longer run in the new integration. Implement individual adjustments as customizing.
-
The new integration does not support eBay Payments.
