The import/export journal helps you monitor all transfers of your integrations in one place. You see at a glance whether products, stock levels, prices, and orders were transferred successfully, find errors quickly, and restart failed transfers. The journal is free of charge for all customers.
You reach the journal in the main menu via the path Automation > Journal.
Note
The journal replaces the previous journals of the individual integrations and the previous general journal under Settings > Sell > Shops & marketplaces > Journal. You now find all functions of the previous journals here, across all integrations.

Testing the settings with individual records before going live
-
Monitoring the data transfer during live operation
-
Finding and fixing failed transfers
-
Manually triggering individual or multiple records
-
Importing individual orders in a targeted way
The journal displays the transfers in a separate tab per entity: Products, Prices, Stocks, Orders, Order status & tracking, Receipts, and Payment transactions. In addition, there are custom entities that originate from customizations or customer-specific processes. The journal component in Xentral Flows creates these.
In the tab Products, you see the columns ID, Article no., Name, Channel, Status, and Last run for each entry. In the tab Orders, the columns are called Order number, Order id, Channel, Status, Order date, and Last run. If a transfer fails, the journal displays the error message, for example “The import of the order failed”.
The following filters are available for narrowing down the list:
-
Channel: Displays only the transfers of one integration.
-
Status: Displays, for example, only failed transfers.
-
Column filters: Narrow down the list by the values of individual columns.
-
Quick filters: With Today, Yesterday, or Last 14 days, displays only the transfers of this period.
With Refresh, you reload the list.
-
Navigate to Automation > Journal.
-
Select the entity, for example Orders.
-
Filter by the status for failed transfers.
-
If needed, narrow down the channel and the period, for example with the quick filter Yesterday.
-
Read the error message of the entry.
You can find the causes and solutions of common error messages in the article Error messages and solutions.
After you have fixed the cause of an error, you restart the transfer. This works for all entities. Depending on how many records are affected, you have three options:
-
Single record: Click on the icon for running again in the row of the entry.
-
Multiple records: Select the desired entries and restart the transfer via the bar at the bottom of the page.
-
All filtered records: First set your filters, and then click on Synchronize filtered in the tab Products or on Re-run filtered in the tab Orders.
Xentral transfers only the data types that you have activated in the tab Workflows of the integration.
Tip
If you restart a matrix product, Xentral automatically transfers the associated variants as well. Therefore, restart the matrix products and not each variant individually in addition.
If an order was not imported automatically, for example because a product was missing, you import it in a targeted way via its order number after the correction.
-
Navigate to Automation > Journal.
-
Select the entity Orders.
-
Click on Import sales orders.
-
Select the channel from which you want to import orders.
-
Enter the order number. Separate multiple order numbers with commas.
-
Start the import.
Xentral loads the order from the sales channel and imports it. Xentral does not import orders that have already been imported again, so that no duplicates are created.
Note
During live operation, Xentral retrieves orders automatically. Xentral transfers stock levels and prices with every change in Xentral. You need the manual import only after corrections or during the test phase.

With the journal, you manually trigger individual records independently of this.
Customizations and custom flows create their own journal entries via the journal component in Xentral Flows. These appear in the journal as a separate entity. This way, you also monitor customer-specific transfers in the same place as your standard integrations. See the article Customizing with Xentral Flows
The central point of contact is the journal: There, Xentral logs all imports and exports and displays errors with an understandable error message. Therefore, check the journal regularly.
In addition, many integrations automatically write their status messages to the System status page. There, you can be notified by email about the status of the order import: On the System status page, set up a subscription under Manage alarms > Create alarm. You select your integrations, the frequency, and whether you are notified about warnings and/or errors. See the article System Status.
