Via the catalog, you add new integrations to your Xentral yourself, regardless of whether they come from Xentral or from a partner. Integrations from Xentral are free of charge. Only partner apps are paid; you can see their price during installation in the catalog. Afterward, you create the connection to your sales channel via the wizard.
If you have multiple shops or countries, you generally create a separate integration per sales channel, especially if the configuration or product assignment differs.
-
You are logged in to Xentral with administrator rights.
-
You have completed the preparations in Xentral, for example project, postage item, payment methods, and shipping methods. See the article Preparing Xentral for the integration.
-
You have the credentials of your sales channel at hand, or, for channels with login at the provider, for example Amazon, you can log in there. The required information is in the article for the respective integration.
-
Navigate to Settings > Integrations.
-
Click on New integration.
Xentral opens the page Integrations – Connect a sales channel to Xentral. In the area Installed, you see the integrations that are already installed in your Xentral. Below that, in the area Available, you see all further integrations. The page also displays the note “To create an integration, click the channel you want to connect.”
At the very bottom follows the area Coming soon with integrations that will be released shortly. As soon as they are released, you can use them via the page Integrations.
Use the filters to narrow down the selection:
-
Search: Finds integrations via a search term.
-
Price: Displays only free or only paid integrations.
-
Provider: Displays only integrations from Xentral or only integrations from partners.
-
Category: Displays only integrations of one kind, for example marketplace, shop, or accounting.
The further process depends on whether the integration is already installed.
-
Click on the desired integration.
-
Integration is already installed: Xentral opens the wizard directly. Continue with the section “Creating the connection with the wizard”.
-
Integration is not yet installed: Xentral opens the detail page of the integration. The page displays the sections About this integration, Included features, Booking, and Provider. In the right column, you see price, provider, and legal information. To book a partner integration, you accept the terms of the respective partner. If Xentral connects the integration itself, you do not have to accept anything further.
-
-
Read the information in the sections About this integration, Included features, and Booking.
-
Only for partner integrations: Activate the option I accept the terms of the partner. For integrations from Xentral, this step does not apply.
-
Click on Install. For paid partner integrations, the button is called Book subject to charge.
Xentral installs the integration. From now on, it appears in the catalog in the area Installed.
Note
The installation is only necessary once per integration. You create further connections of the same integration, for example a second Shopify shop, directly via the wizard.
If you install a paid partner integration, it appears as a separate item on your Xentral invoice with the next billing run. You book it directly in the catalog and no longer have to submit a request to Support.
You currently cannot cancel or uninstall a paid integration yourself. You cancel by email to account@xentral.com, in each case effective at the end of the current booking month.
You cannot delete integrations, but you can deactivate them via the three-dot menu of the row in the overview. The data is retained in the process.
Xentral opens the wizard Create new <integration> integration, for example Create new Kaufland integration. It guides you through creating the connection in three steps. The exact fields depend on the integration and are described in the article “Adding <integration>” of the respective integration.
-
Authorization or Credentials: What step 1 is called depends on how Xentral logs in to the sales channel.
-
Authorization (connect account), for example for Amazon, eBay, OTTO, and Shopify: The login takes place directly at the provider. Click on Connect with <channel>. Xentral redirects you to the consent page of the provider, and then you return to the wizard. There is no connection test in this variant.
-
Credentials (enter credentials), for all other sales channels: Under “How should Xentral sign in to <channel>?”, you enter the credentials of your sales channel, for example URL and API key. Click on Test connection to check the connection.
Then click on Next.
-
-
Details (name and features): Enter a unique Integration name, for example “Shopify DE”, and select the features that you want to use, for example Synchronize stocks (Xentral > sales channel) or Synchronize orders (sales channel > Xentral). Click on Next.
-
Review (confirm and create): Check your information and click on Create integration.
With Cancel, you leave the wizard without saving the connection.
Tip
When creating the integration, leave the option Activate production mode in the step Details deactivated at first. This way, you test the integration with individual records before data flows automatically between Xentral and your sales channel.
After completion, the new connection appears in the overview under Settings > Integrations.
-
In the tab Configuration, define the products that Xentral should synchronize. See the article Product filter: rules for all integrations
-
Carry out the settings per feature in the tab Workflows.
-
Test the integration before you go live, see Testing before going live.
Only go live with an integration after you have tested all workflows.
-
Carry out all settings of the integration.
-
Activate the features you want to test in the workflows. You can only trigger active features via the journal. Channel active stays switched off until you go live.
-
Initially assign only a few products to the integration and transfer them.
-
Check in the sales channel whether the products are created correctly and, above all, whether stock levels and prices arrive.
-
Place several test orders in the shop and import them into Xentral.
-
Test all remaining workflows. You can trigger each workflow manually via the journal under Automation > Journal. See the article Import/export journal.
-
Only then activate production mode, see the article “<Channel>: Going live”.
