With the product assignment, you specify for which products Xentral synchronizes data with eBay. For eBay, this mainly concerns stock: Xentral reports stock levels to eBay only for products in the product filter. The selection applies to all workflows of the integration.
With eBay in particular, a careful filter is worthwhile. The integration does not list products on eBay; it only updates offers that already exist there. A product in the filter without a matching eBay offer causes an error with every stock change.
-
The eBay integration is created. See the article Adding eBay
-
The products you want to assign are available on eBay as offers.
-
The product numbers in Xentral match the SKUs on eBay, or you have stored external numbers. See the article Working with different product numbers in the shop/marketplace and in Xentral.
-
Navigate to Settings > Integrations and click on the gear icon for your eBay integration.
-
In the Configuration tab, switch to the Article assignment sub-tab.
-
In the Configure filter card, define the conditions a product must meet: After WHEN, select the field, the operator, and the value. You add further conditions with Add single condition. For the first tests, select a condition that matches exactly one product, e.g., the product number of a test product.
-
Click on Save and apply and confirm the displayed number of matches. Xentral applies the filter and creates a new product list from it.
Under Previously applied filters, you can see earlier applications with the number of products and the date.
Xentral adds all products that meet the conditions to the product assignment. In live operation, you extend the filter to all products you offer on eBay.
Tip
Mark your eBay products in Xentral consistently, e.g., with a tag or the online shop options in the product. You use this marking as the only condition in the filter. You then add new eBay products by marking them.
Important
These four rules apply to all integrations, including eBay.
-
Only assign products that are listed on eBay. A product without an eBay offer causes an error in your instance with every stock change.
-
Removing does not delete. If you remove a product from the filter, its offer remains on eBay. Xentral simply no longer updates its stock. To end an offer, use the functions of eBay. See the article Removing products from the shop/marketplace listing.
-
New products are added to the filter overnight. If a new product meets the conditions, Xentral adds it during the next nightly run. There is no immediate synchronization of individual products here.
-
Being in the filter does not mean being synchronized immediately. Xentral transfers the stock of a product as soon as something changes in Xentral, e.g., due to a goods receipt or an order. If you want to synchronize immediately, trigger the transfer in the journal. See the article Import/export journal.
-
You can see whether the transfer for a product was successful in the journal under Automation > Journal with the channel filter for your eBay integration.
