Xentral is migrating the previous connections to online shops and marketplaces (legacy) to the current integrations. The new integrations work on the same principle for all channels: Product assignment, workflows, and journal work the same everywhere. New functions such as Feed Management are only available for the new integrations.
In this article, you learn who performs the migration for your channel, what you prepare, and what changes after the migration.
Note
Legacy refers to the previous connections via the shop importer. You find them under Settings > Sell > Shops/Marketplaces. You find the new integrations under Settings > Integrations.
-
Journal: Under Automation > Journal, you see the status of every transferred record, read error messages, and restart records yourself.
-
Consistent operation: Product assignment, workflows, and general settings are structured the same way for all integrations.
-
Automatic synchronization: The integration synchronizes data on its own. You no longer need the process starter for the shop importer.
-
Individual adjustments: Instead of Smarty scripts, you use customizations with Xentral Flows.
-
Feed Management: For marketplaces such as eBay, Amazon, and Kaufland, Feed Management is only usable with the new integration.
-
Further development: Xentral provides new functions and maintenance only for the new integrations.
The process depends on the channel:

If Xentral migrates for you, Xentral informs you about the date in good time. Before the switchover, Xentral checks whether the data is transferred correctly and contacts you if something needs to be done on your side. The migration is free of charge.
-
Settings: Xentral takes over the settings of your previous connection into the new integration. For a self-migration, you select in the wizard whether you take over the product assignment or create it anew.
-
Article assignment: The channel assignment on your products remains in place. Xentral uses it as a filter criterion in the product assignment of the new integration. You do not have to reassign your products.
-
Previous connection: The legacy connection remains in the system. Do not delete it.
Check these points before the migration. The new integration processes only properly maintained data and reports deviations as errors in the journal instead of silently ignoring them.
-
Payment methods: The payment methods of your channel are stored correctly. You control whether an order counts as paid in the payment method via the field Behaves like.
-
Postage and discount items: Products that you use as shipping costs or discount are marked in the product master as Postage or Discount. Only then can you select them in the new integration.
-
External numbers: The external numbers of your products match the product numbers in the channel and are linked to the correct connection.
-
Individual adjustments: You know whether your previous connection is adapted via Smarty scripts. You have to implement these adjustments again.
-
Smarty scripts no longer run. You implement individual adjustments as a customization with Xentral Flows, yourself in the Flow Editor or through a partner or the Consulting team. Customizations count as flows. You can use the Flow Editor with the new service description.
-
No automatic product creation: If an order arrives with an unknown product, Xentral no longer creates the product automatically. You receive an error message in the journal, create the product, and retrieve the order again.
-
Shipping methods: You assign the shipping methods of the channel to your shipping methods in Xentral in the tab Workflows in the orders area.
-
You only change settings in the new integration. The settings of the legacy connection are frozen after the migration.
-
Data import from the shop: You transfer product data via CSV import under Automation > CSV import, see the article Importing data via CSV import.
-
Costs: Standard integrations count neither as flows nor as API calls and do not use up your included volume.
For online shops, you migrate yourself. The migration wizard creates the new integration and takes over the settings of your previous connection.
-
Navigate to Settings > Integrations and click on Migrate existing integration. You see all sales channels that have not yet been migrated to the current version. Select your shop.
-
Select the existing connection whose settings you want to take over, and click on Next.
-
Define how you assign products:
-
Transfer product assignment from the existing integration: Xentral takes over your previous assignment.
-
Assign items based on a defined rule: You define the filter criteria anew after the wizard.
-
-
Leave the switch Image transfer deactivated if you want to continue using the images from your shop.
Caution
If you activate the switch Image transfer, Xentral replaces all images in the shop with the images from Xentral. If the images in Xentral are incomplete or outdated, images and the associated SEO information in the shop are lost. If your images currently come from the shop, leave the switch deactivated. You can activate image transfer later in the tab Workflows.
-
Confirm the notes. Xentral creates the integration and displays a success message.
-
In the tab Configuration, check the product assignment. If the number of products found does not match, check the Online shop options in the products or create the assignment anew.
-
In the tab Workflows, check all transferred settings and adjust them if needed.
-
For each data type, trigger individual records, for example via Synchronize products in the product, and check the result under Automation > Journal.
-
Deactivate the old connection: Navigate to Settings > Sell > Shops & marketplaces overview, open the connection, deactivate the option Active, remove the credentials, and click on Save.
Caution
Deactivate the old connection before you set the new integration live. Otherwise, Xentral imports orders twice. Do not delete the old connection. It must remain in the system.

In the new integration, activate production mode, see the article “<Channel>: Going live”.
