Here, you can find answers to frequently asked questions about the Shopware 6 integration and proven best practices.
Does the integration support my Shopware version?
The integration is compatible with all Shopware 6 versions up to and including 6.7.x, including new minor versions such as 6.7.1. For a new major version with fundamental changes, Xentral checks compatibility in advance.
I still use Shopware 5. Can I use the integration?
No. The integration supports Shopware 6 only. Shopware has discontinued Shopware 5 and recommends switching to Shopware 6. After the switch, you connect your shop with this integration.
Do I need the process starter for Connect?
No. The integration exchanges data automatically after going live. You do not have to set anything in the process starter.
Can I import products from Shopware to Xentral?
The integration transfers products only from Xentral to Shopware. For a one-time import, you export the data from Shopware and import it with the CSV import, see the article Importing data via CSV import.
I activated the features in the workflows, but no data is being exchanged. What is the reason?
Going live takes place in two stages. In addition to the Active switch in each area of the workflows, the Production mode must also be selected and Channel active must be turned on in the Configuration > General settings tab, see the article Shopware 6: Going live.
I filtered a product out of the product assignment, but it is still in the shop. How do I remove it?
The filter only controls whether Xentral updates a product. A product that has been filtered out remains in Shopware but no longer receives any data from Xentral. To take it out of the offering, open the product in Xentral, switch to Details > Online shop options, activate the option Product inactive, and click on Save. We recommend setting products to inactive instead of deleting them. This way, you avoid inconsistent data.
I no longer want to offer a variant of a matrix product. How do I proceed?
Open the variant in the product master data and activate the option Lock active. Be sure to keep the assignment to the matrix product in the Variants section. If you remove it, the product structure changes and inconsistent data is created. You can find more on this in the article Shopware 6: Synchronizing matrix products and variants.
Why do my images not arrive in Shopware although master data, stocks, and prices arrive?
Often, your shop server is not allowed to open external image addresses. There are two remedies:
-
Activate the PHP setting
allow_url_fopenin your hosting, e.g., in thephp.inior in the hosting panel. With managed hosting, ask your hosting provider. -
Check proxy or CDN rules, e.g., for Cloudflare, and allow the connections from Xentral.
In addition, check whether the correct images are assigned to the products in Xentral and whether the data type Images is active in the Articles area of the workflows and a media folder is selected under Media.
Why does the delivery time text not arrive in Shopware?
Xentral transfers the field Delivery time text manual (Product > Details > Online shop options) to the Shopware delivery time field. The text must correspond exactly to a delivery time that is created in Shopware. Alternatively, you fill the delivery time via a custom field, see the article Shopware 6: Assigning custom fields.
Why do my prices not arrive in Shopware?
Usually, an assignment is missing. What you need to set depends on the type of your price:
-
Single default price without tiers and without validity: Xentral transfers it automatically. With multiple currencies, you need the Currency assignment.
-
Default tiered prices or prices with validity: Activate Activate advanced pricing settings and, in the Xentral column, assign "Default price" to a Shopware customer group.
-
Group tiered prices, e.g., for wholesale: Activate Activate advanced pricing settings and assign the Xentral customer group from the price tier to a Shopware customer group or price rule.
If you have selected a customer group in the Customer group field, Xentral transfers only its prices and does not fall back on the default price for products without a group price. You can find more on this in the article Shopware 6: Managing advanced prices.
What happens to an order that contains a product that does not exist in Xentral?
Xentral does not import the order and reports an error in the journal. Create the product in Xentral and then import the order in the journal via its order number. To keep this from happening often, create products in Xentral before they can be ordered in the shop.
How do I import an order manually?
Open the journal via the path Automation > Journal, select the Orders tab, and import the order specifically via its order number with Import sales orders. In live operation, Xentral imports orders automatically. You need the manual import after corrections, e.g., after an error, or for orders that are older than three days. Via the order number, you import orders regardless of their date.
Can I automatically change the shipping method depending on the delivery country?
Yes, with shipping rules. A shipping rule filters sales orders by, for example, shipping method, project, delivery country, and shop, and automatically changes the shipping profile after the import.
Designations are missing on my English-language receipts, e.g., for the postage or discount item.
The translation is missing in the product. Open the product, switch to Details > Texts and descriptions, and enter a designation in the Article (EN) field.
-
Transferring matrix products step by step: For the first synchronization, transfer the matrix product first and only then the variants, see the article Shopware 6: Synchronizing matrix products and variants.
-
Defining the product tree before the synchronization: Activate the category synchronization only when the structure is final, and afterward change categories only according to plan, see the article Shopware 6: Managing product tree categories.
-
Assigning custom fields in a targeted way: For full control, use the manual assignment and fill Shopware default fields via appropriately named custom fields, see the article Shopware 6: Assigning custom fields.
-
Transferring prices with validity via customer groups: Only the assignment to Shopware customer groups transfers time-limited validity, see the article Shopware 6: Managing advanced prices.
-
Setting products to inactive instead of deleting them: This way, data remains consistent in both systems.
