With the Shopify integration, you connect your Shopify shop with Xentral. Shopify provides everything you need to sell online, but it does not map its own shipping process. Xentral handles order processing with auto-shipment and the shipping center, books the stock levels, and automatically reports stock levels, order statuses, and tracking numbers back to Shopify.
You can find all integrations under Settings > Integrations. There, you open your Shopify integration via the gear icon and carry out all settings in the two tabs Configuration and Workflows.
When you create the integration, you select which data Xentral exchanges with Shopify. You can choose from the following:

In addition, the integration supports these Shopify specifics:
-
Sales channels: You define in which sales channels your products appear, and you assign orders to a Xentral project per sales channel or per order tag.
-
Locations: You assign your Xentral warehouses to one or more Shopify locations.
-
B2B catalogs: You transfer customer group prices and tiered prices to catalogs of the same name in Shopify.
-
Shopify POS: If you want, you write orders from your retail store to a general POS customer.
-
Shopify Plus: You automatically transfer the VAT ID from the standard field of Shopify Plus to Xentral.
-
No import of products from Shopify: Xentral is the leading system for products. You transfer existing products from your shop once via CSV import, see the article Importing data via CSV import.
-
No direct assignment of category to collection: Xentral transfers the product tree to the Shopify product taxonomy and product tags to Shopify product tags. You create collections in Shopify as automated collections based on tags.
-
No orders with unknown products: Xentral does not import orders that contain a product without a SKU or a product that is not created in Xentral. This also applies to custom sales in the POS.
-
No import of older orders: Xentral only retrieves orders that are no more than 3 days old and were created after you activated the order import. You import older orders specifically via the order number in the journal.
-
No region-specific tax rates within a country: The Xentral standard does not directly map special regions such as Corsica.
-
No warehouse mapping for JIT bills of materials: For JIT bills of materials, Xentral calculates the stock across all warehouses, see the article Shopify: JIT bills of materials and bundles.
-
Shopify Markets: For each market (for example, with its own prices, currencies, or languages), you create a separate integration, see the article Adding Shopify.
-
You have a Shopify shop and an account with administrator permissions in Shopify.
-
You are logged in to Xentral with administrator permissions. Currently, only admins can install and set up the integration.
-
Your shop is prepared for the connection, see the article Shopify: Setting up the shop.
Shopify is a standard integration from Xentral. It is not charged: In usage-based pricing, its processes count neither as flows nor as API calls and do not use up your included volume. Customer-specific flows and customizations that you use additionally count as flows; the API calls they contain do not count. You can find details on included volume and rate limits in the article Costs, plans and limits.
Note
For Shopify, there is also the older connection via the shop importer. All articles in this section describe the current Shopify integration based on Xentral Connect. If you still use the older connection, you can find it in the article Online shops (Legacy). The article Updating the shop importer explains how to update to the current version.
When switching from Shopify, keep the following in mind:
-
Connect the new integration via the public app. In the process, Shopify creates the app "Xentral ERP Connector" with all required permissions; you do not need a custom app.
-
When switching, you can transfer the product assignment from the existing connection. The filter criterion in the product assignment is then the online shop UUID of the old connection. Check whether the number of products found is correct.
-
Deactivate the live mode of the old connection before you set the new integration live. Otherwise, Xentral imports orders twice. If the deactivation cannot be saved, reload the page, clear the browser cache, or work in an incognito window.
