In the general settings, you adjust settings that apply to the entire Shopify integration: credentials, Shopify Plus, and the link via external numbers. You can find them in the tab Configuration > General settings of your integration, divided into the sections Status, Identity, Connection (read-only), Features, Type-specific settings, Credentials when connecting via a custom app, and Authorization when connecting via the public app. In contrast, you set details of individual features in the tab Workflows.
-
Navigate to Settings > Integrations.
-
Click on the gear icon for your Shopify integration. The tab Configuration opens. Switch to the sub-tab General settings.
-
Carry out the settings and click on Save.
With Search settings (keyboard shortcut Shift+F) at the top of the configuration, you find a setting faster: Enter a keyword, for example "external numbers", and click on the result. Xentral jumps directly to the setting, even into the other tab.

|
Integration name |
If needed, change the name under which you find the integration. The name must be unique. |
|
URL |
URL of your Shopify shop. Only when connecting via a custom app. |
|
Token |
Access token of your custom app. If you have generated a new token in Shopify, enter it here. |
You change the name under Configuration > General settings in the section Identity. You can find the credentials of a custom app (URL, token) in the section Credentials. You save this section separately. If your integration is connected via the public app, you renew the connection in the section Authorization via Renew authorization. If reauthorization is necessary, Xentral notifies you with an in-app message.
In the section Identity, you also set the Mode: Production or Development. In Development mode, the integration is not used productively: Xentral does not process any events, but targeted tests are possible. With Channel active in the section Status, you define whether Xentral synchronizes and exports the data of this integration, see the article Shopify: Going live.
If you use a Shopify Plus shop and maintain the standard field for the VAT ID there, Xentral transfers the VAT ID with the sales order.

Is it a “Shopify Plus” shop? |
Activate the switch if your shop is a Shopify Plus shop. |
By default, Xentral links products via the product number that is maintained as the SKU in Shopify. If you use SKUs in Shopify that differ from the product numbers in Xentral, you link the products via external numbers.

Use external numbers |
Activate the switch to link products via external numbers instead of product numbers. |
|
External numbers designation |
Enter the designation of the external numbers that apply to this shop. The designation must exactly match the designation in the external numbers of the products, including uppercase and lowercase. It does not have to match the name of the shop. |
This is how you maintain the external numbers:
-
Open the app Article external numbers via Smart Search to maintain external numbers for many products. Alternatively, open a product and switch to the tab External numbers.
-
Enter the SKU from Shopify as the external number. Other fields such as the product ID have no effect.
-
Link the shop and assign the designation that you entered in the setting External numbers designation.
Example: You sell "Cherry water" with the product number PN-100012 in three shops, each of which uses its own SKU. For each shop, you enter an external number with its own designation, for example "Shopify DE", and enter exactly this designation in the respective integration.
Caution
If you delete a product in Xentral, Xentral also removes its external numbers. With an active external number link, Xentral therefore does not automatically delete the product in Shopify. Delete it there manually. We recommend not deleting products but setting them to Product inactive in the online shop options.
For more on external numbers, see the article External Numbers in Xentral: Mapping Item Numbers from Shops and Marketplaces.
If you no longer need an integration, for example because you only created it for testing, you can delete it. In the process, Xentral irrevocably removes all settings of the integration. Check beforehand that you have selected the correct integration.
Navigate to Settings > Integrations, open the three-dot menu in the row of your Shopify integration, and click on Delete.
