Before you connect Shopify with Xentral, you set up a few basics in your shop. Only then can Xentral assign stock levels to a location, retrieve orders with payment and shipping information, and calculate taxes correctly. If you are completely new to Shopify, we would like to refer you to the Shopify Help Center. There, you can find detailed and up-to-date instructions on every topic. Here, we only describe what is important for the connection to Xentral.

For the initial setup, follow the Shopify checklist. This way, you do not miss any step.
In Shopify, you sell via sales channels, for example your online store, Shopify POS in your retail store, or channels from third-party providers. Xentral publishes your products in the sales channels that you select in the workflows, and it can assign orders to a separate Xentral project per sales channel. This way, you control and evaluate your processes separately per channel. You can find more information under Sales channels in Shopify.
So that Xentral can transfer stock levels, you need at least one location in Shopify. A location can be an entire warehouse, a single shelf, or the location of a logistics service provider. Think in advance about which structure best maps your processes: In the workflows, you assign exactly one Shopify location to each Xentral warehouse. You can find more information under Locations in Shopify.
In addition, activate inventory tracking for your products. You can find more information under Inventory in Shopify.
So that Xentral can adopt the payment status and payment method when importing orders from Shopify, you need at least one payment method. You can find more information under Payments in Shopify.
How you handle your logistics in detail can be a complex topic. At this point, we would like to refer you to the Shopify shipping help. At least one shipping rate is required for the connection.
In Shopify, you assign a reduced or exempt tax rate to products via a collection. For example, if you sell books with a reduced tax rate, create a separate collection for them and enter the deviating tax rate for it. You select these collections later in the workflows. You can find more information under Tax overrides in Shopify.
If you want to transfer customer group prices and tiered prices from Xentral to Shopify B2B catalogs, create a catalog in Shopify for each customer group. The name of the catalog must exactly match the name of the customer group in Xentral. You can find more information under Catalogs in Shopify.
If you want to transfer product texts in additional languages to Shopify, install the free Shopify app Translate & Adapt. Without this app, Shopify does not accept translations.
We recommend connecting Shopify via the public app. In this case, Shopify creates the app "Xentral ERP Connector" and sets all required permissions automatically. You skip this section. Only if you want to establish the connection via a custom app do you create the app and its permissions yourself.
