The Amazon integration supports you when you sell on Amazon and do not want to synchronize orders, stock levels, prices, and documents manually between Seller Central and Xentral. It does not matter whether you ship your goods yourself (FBM – Fulfillment by Merchant) or let Amazon handle shipping (FBA – Fulfillment by Amazon): Both order types arrive in Xentral and can be processed separately.
The integration consists of five features that you activate individually:
-
Orders (Amazon > Xentral): Xentral imports FBM and FBA orders from the Amazon marketplaces that you select. Before the import, Xentral waits for the tax-relevant reports from Amazon, for example with a different billing address or VAT ID. You define how long Xentral waits at most.
-
Stock (Xentral > Amazon): Xentral reports the available stock level of your self-shipped offers (FBM) from one or more warehouses to Amazon, optionally minus reservations and open sales orders.
-
Prices (Xentral > Amazon): Xentral transfers the default price or the price of a customer group to Amazon.
-
Order status & tracking (Xentral > Amazon): As soon as tracking information is available, Xentral reports the shipment to Amazon with shipping service provider and tracking number. Cancellations can be synchronized in both directions.
-
Receipts (in both directions, depending on the invoice service): With the invoice service IDU, Xentral uploads your invoices to Amazon. With VCS, Xentral adopts the invoices created by Amazon. With IDU and VCS, Xentral adopts the credit notes from Amazon; with VCS Lite, it does not.
In addition, there are Amazon-specific settings, for example separate projects for FBM and FBA, a separate waiting time for Prime orders, an assignment of all Amazon shipping methods including Prime, a document language per marketplace, and support for Amazon Custom (configurable products).
Supported marketplaces: Germany, Spain, United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Sweden, Poland, Ireland, Turkey, South Africa, Australia, USA, Canada, and Mexico.
-
No product creation: The integration neither creates products in Xentral automatically nor offers (listings) on Amazon. You maintain product data such as title, description, or images directly in Seller Central. If an order arrives with an unknown product, Xentral does not import it and displays the error "No product with number XXX found" in the journal.
-
No refund from Xentral: You always trigger a refund in Seller Central. The credit note in Xentral is created from the refund. A credit note that you create in Xentral first is not assigned to the later refund by Xentral and is not uploaded to Amazon.
-
No FBA stock: Amazon manages the stock of your FBA goods. Xentral only reports stock levels for self-shipped offers.
-
No net prices: There is no option to transfer net prices to Amazon.
-
A seller account in Amazon Seller Central in which you are an administrator. Only administrators may authorize the Xentral app in Seller Central.
-
Administration permissions in Xentral.
-
For every product that you sell on Amazon, an external number with the Amazon SKU.
-
One project each for FBM and for FBA, if you use both. The FBA project needs the picking method Without stock booking.
-
A postage item and a discount item that are marked in the product master data as Postage or Discount.
-
A payment method for Amazon that behaves like an invoice.
You find all details on this in the articles Amazon: Setting up Seller Central and Preparing Xentral for the integration.
Amazon is a standard integration. You can use it in every plan. In usage-based billing (Usage Based Pricing), it counts neither as a flow nor as an API call and does not use up your included volume. You find more in the article Costs, plans and limits.
Note
In addition to this integration, there is the previous Amazon integration (Legacy). You find the description in the article Amazon (Legacy): Overview, and the general update procedure in the article Updating the shop importer. For Amazon, the following also applies to the update:
-
All Amazon integrations together: The switch applies to all Amazon integrations of your Xentral instance at the same time. Therefore, authorize every Amazon integration in the new integration beforehand as well.
-
Previous integration remains visible: After the switch, you still see the previous Amazon integration. Its settings are frozen, the fields for the order import are grayed out, and you cannot delete the entry. The settings were adopted into the new integration; you only make changes there from now on.
-
FBA needs its own project: The integration no longer sets FBA orders to completed independently of the project. Create a separate FBA project with the picking method Without stock booking and enter it in the Orders workflow under Project for FBA.
-
No automatic product creation anymore: Xentral no longer creates unknown products from orders. Maintain the external numbers SKU_FBM and SKU_FBA with reference to your Amazon integration.
-
Postage and discount only with marking: As shipping cost and discount items, you can only select products that are marked in the product master data as Postage or Discount.
-
Payment traffic light via the payment method: The previous option "paid in advance" no longer exists. In the payment method for Amazon, set Behavior like to Invoice and leave the Project field empty.
-
Assigning shipping methods directly: Instead of using Smarty templates, you assign the Amazon shipping methods directly in the workflow. After the switch, check the Shipping methods assignment and the auto-shipment settings, because Xentral derived them from the previous configuration.
-
Uploading invoices via only one integration: If you use the invoice upload (IDU), activate the Receipts feature in the new integration and set the invoice handling in the previous integration to None / Amainvoice. If you turn off the upload in the previous integration without activating it in the new one, invoices are missing at Amazon.
-
Amazon Seller App: For analyzing FBA stock levels with the Amazon Seller App, you currently still need an active previous Amazon integration.
