With custom fields, you maintain additional product information in Xentral, e.g., material or origin. The Shopware 6 integration writes this information to where you need it in the shop: to Shopware custom fields, to Shopware properties, or directly to Shopware default fields such as minimum purchase quantity or delivery time. This article shows you the options and what each is suited for.
-
The Shopware 6 integration is set up, see the article Shopware 6: Overview.
-
In the workflows, the data type Custom fields is active in the Articles area.
-
The custom fields are created in Xentral (system settings, Custom fields area) and filled in the product.
The four options differ in their target in Shopware:
Option |
Target in Shopware |
When it is suitable |
|---|---|---|
|
Transfer free fields from Xentral |
Custom fields, created automatically |
You want to transfer all custom fields without maintenance effort. |
|
Manual assignment table |
Existing custom fields |
You want to define exactly which custom fields are transferred. |
|
Automatically write free fields from Xentral to available properties |
Existing properties with the same name |
You use the values as filterable properties, e.g., color. |
|
Manually assign free fields from Xentral to the properties available in the shop |
Existing properties, assigned individually |
You want to define exactly which custom fields arrive as a property. |
-
Navigate to Settings > Integrations.
-
Click on the gear icon for your Shopware 6 integration and switch to the Workflows tab.
-
In the Articles area, in the Free field assignment section, select one of the four options in the How should the free fields from Xentral be transferred to the online store? field.
-
For a manual option, assign the Xentral custom field on the left and the Shopware field on the right in the Free field assignment table. Click on + Add group for additional rows.
-
Click on Save.
Note
You write a Xentral custom field either to custom fields or to properties, not to both at the same time.
Transfer free fields from Xentral: In Shopware, Xentral automatically creates a custom field set named "Connect" and, in it, a custom field for each custom field, e.g., "Color" or "Origin". You can find the set in Shopware under Settings > System > Custom fields. In the Shopware product, the values are in the Specifications tab, in the Custom fields area.
Note
You can no longer edit the name of the "Connect" set and the names of the custom fields in Shopware afterward.
Manual assignment table: You define the custom fields that Xentral transfers. The set and custom field must already exist in Shopware. Select the custom field in the table or type it in. If you have changed names in Shopware, click on Reload options. Xentral transfers only the assigned custom fields.
You can find properties in Shopware under Catalogues > Properties and in the Shopware product in the Specifications tab, in the Properties area.
Automatically write free fields from Xentral to available properties: The property, e.g., "Color", must already exist in Shopware. If a value, e.g., "Yellow", is missing, Xentral creates it in the property and assigns it to the product.
Manually assign free fields from Xentral to the properties available in the shop: You define the custom fields that Xentral transfers as a property. The properties must already be created in Shopware.
Regardless of the selected option, you fill some Shopware default fields directly from Xentral. There are two ways to do this:
-
Via a custom field: Name the Xentral custom field like the Shopware field, e.g., "Minimum purchase quantity".
-
Via a property: Use the technical name of the Shopware field, e.g.,
shopware6_min_purchase.

Note
Xentral queries custom fields first. Do not use a custom field and a property at the same time for the same Shopware field; otherwise, the custom field always wins.
Note
Xentral transfers only filled values. If a matching custom field is filled, Xentral always transfers the value, regardless of the selected option. If you do not want to transfer a value, leave the field empty in Xentral.
Tip
For the release date, select the type Date for the custom field and display it in the product under Details. For Shopware fields with a selection list, the value in Xentral must correspond exactly to an option in Shopware.
Tip
Alternatively, you can transfer the delivery time via the Delivery time text manual field in the product under Details > Online shop options.
You fill Shopware fields for which there is no default field only via a customization. For this, contact your solution consultant or, if you do not have one yet, Xentral Support.
