Only when you set the integration live does Xentral exchange data with OTTO automatically in the background. Going live takes place in two stages. This way, you make sure that you have tested every feature and that none sends data to OTTO by accident.
-
Navigate to Settings > Integrations.
-
Click on the gear icon for your OTTO integration.
-
Switch to the Workflows tab.
-
In each sub-tab you want to use, activate the Active switch.
-
Click on Save.
If required fields (marked with *) are not filled in, Xentral displays an error message. In this case, add the missing information in the affected sub-tab, click on Save, and activate the Active switch again.
As long as Channel active is switched off, Xentral does not exchange any data automatically yet. You now test the active features specifically via the journal. Xentral does not transfer features that are not active, not even via the journal.
Test each feature before you set the integration live:
-
Limit the product assignment to one or a few products (see the article OTTO: Assigning products).
-
In the main menu, navigate to Automation > Journal.
-
Filter by your OTTO integration (Channel column) and select the tab you want to test, e.g., Stocks, Prices, or Orders.
-
Trigger individual records manually: via the rerun icon in the row, or for all filtered entries in the Products tab with Synchronize filtered, and in the Orders tab with Re-run filtered. You import individual orders selectively via their order number in the Orders tab with Import sales orders.
-
Check whether the data arrives correctly on OTTO or in Xentral. For orders, pay particular attention to customer, payment method, shipping method, shipping costs, and taxes.
-
For order status and tracking, check whether OTTO displays the order as shipped with tracking number and return number.
The article Import/export journal explains all functions of the journal.
Caution
Set the integration live only when it transfers your test data correctly and as expected.
-
Switch to the Configuration tab and there to the General settings sub-tab.
-
In the Identity section, set the Mode to Production.
-
In the Status section, activate the Channel active switch.
-
Click on Save.
Xentral now starts the processes for the data exchange and runs them automatically in the background. In the overview under Settings > Integrations, the active features are marked green.
-
Extend the product assignment to all products you offer on OTTO.
-
Regularly check the journal under Automation > Journal during the first few days, filtered by your OTTO integration and the Error status. With the quick filters Today, Yesterday, and Last 14 days, you narrow down the time period.
-
Keep an eye on the return number pool and add to it in time if you use one.
Tip
Through the System Status page, you can be notified by email about warnings or errors during the order import. To do so, set up a subscription for your integration under Manage alarms > Create alarm.
