With the product assignment, you specify which products Xentral synchronizes with your WooCommerce shop. The selection applies to all workflows, that is, to product data, stock levels, and prices. This ensures that only the products that you also want to sell there arrive in your shop.
-
You have created the WooCommerce integration, see the article Adding WooCommerce.
-
The products that you want to assign are created in Xentral. For matrix products, the matrix product and all variants are created.
-
Navigate to Settings > Integrations.
-
Click on the gear icon for your WooCommerce integration. The Configuration tab opens with the Article assignment sub-tab.
-
Under Configure filter, define one or more conditions. A condition consists of WHEN, a field, an operator, and a value, for example Product number = is equal to 100001. You add further conditions via Add single condition.
-
Click on Save and apply. Beforehand, Xentral displays how many products meet the filter and, after your confirmation, creates the list of assigned products. Under Previously applied filters, you see the previous runs with the number of products and the date.
-
For the first tests: Limit the filter to one or a few products, for example via the product number.
-
For production operation: Extend the filter to all products that you sell in WooCommerce. A filter on the shop link in the online shop options of the products has proven effective.
-
Multiple product numbers: Combine the product number with the comparison IN and enter the numbers separated by commas, for example 100001,100005,100010.
-
Matrix products: Always include the matrix product and its variants together in the filter.
Note
Rules for the product filter
-
Only assign products that are also supposed to be listed in WooCommerce. Otherwise, Xentral publishes products unintentionally, and unnecessary errors occur in your instance.
-
If you remove a product from the filter, Xentral does not delete it in WooCommerce. Xentral simply no longer updates it. For how to take a product out of your offering, see the article WooCommerce: FAQs & best practices.
-
Xentral automatically adds new products that meet the filter overnight. If you do not want to wait, open the product and click on Synchronize products under Details > Online shop options.
-
Xentral does not continuously synchronize a product in the filter. Xentral only transfers it as soon as something changes for it in Xentral and an internal event is triggered as a result.
