With the steps described here, you connect your WooCommerce shop to Xentral. You install the WooCommerce integration from the catalog, generate a REST API key in WooCommerce, and select which data Xentral is to exchange with your shop. You adjust the details afterward in the configuration.
-
You are logged in to Xentral with administrator permissions.
-
Your shop is prepared, see the article WooCommerce: Setting up the shop.
-
You are logged in to WordPress as an administrator and have opened WooCommerce in a second browser window.
-
Navigate to Settings > Integrations.
-
Click on New integration. Xentral opens the Integrations page – Connect a sales channel to Xentral. In the Installed area, you see the integrations that are already installed; in the Available area, you see all other integrations.
-
Search for WooCommerce. If needed, narrow down the list with the filters, for example to the category Shop.
-
Depending on whether WooCommerce is already installed or not, you have two options:
-
WooCommerce is installed: Click on the tile. The wizard for creating the integration starts directly.
-
WooCommerce is not installed yet: Click on the tile. Xentral opens the details page with "Book this integration" and the areas About this integration, Included features, Booking, and Provider. Click on Install.
-
WooCommerce is a free standard integration. The installation does not incur any additional costs on your Xentral invoice.
Xentral opens the wizard Create new WooCommerce integration. It guides you through the setup in three steps: Credentials, Details, and Review. With Cancel, you leave the wizard without saving anything.
Generating a REST API key in WooCommerce
WooCommerce only displays the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret until you leave the page. Make sure that you can complete the setup now, or save both values in a password safe.
-
In WordPress, navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API.
-
Click on Add key.
-
Enter a Description, for example Xentral, select the User, and select the option Read/Write as Permissions.
-
Click on Generate API key. WooCommerce displays the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret.
Entering the credentials
Switch back to Xentral. In the step Credentials (Enter the credentials), the wizard asks: "How should Xentral log in to WooCommerce?" Enter your WooCommerce credentials there. You can change them later in the settings of the integration.

|---|---|
|
URL |
Enter the URL of your WooCommerce shop. |
|
Consumer Key |
Paste the Consumer Key. You find it under "WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API". |
|
Consumer Secret |
Paste the Consumer Secret. In WooCommerce, it is displayed next to the Consumer Key. |
Click on Test connection. As soon as the connection is established, click on Next.
In this step, you give the integration a name and select the features. Then click on Next.

|
Integration name |
Assign a name by which you can recognize the integration later, for example the name of your shop. The name must be unique. |
|
Activate production mode |
Leave the switch deactivated. You activate production mode only after you have set up and tested everything, see the article WooCommerce: Going live. |
In this step, you specify which data Xentral exchanges with WooCommerce in principle. We recommend activating all features that you want to use. You set up exactly which data is transferred later per feature in the workflows, and there you also activate each feature individually.
Field name |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Synchronize articles (excl. prices and stocks) (Xentral > sales channel) |
Transfers product data from Xentral to WooCommerce. |
|
Match categories (Xentral > sales channel) |
Transfers categories from the product tree. |
|
Synchronize stocks (Xentral > sales channel) |
Transfers stock levels to WooCommerce. |
|
Synchronize orders (sales channel > Xentral) |
Imports orders from WooCommerce to Xentral. |
|
Synchronize prices (Xentral > sales channel) |
Transfers prices to WooCommerce. |
|
Synchronize order statuses and tracking (Xentral > sales channel) |
Reports completion, tracking numbers, and cancellations to WooCommerce. |
You can activate or deactivate the features at any time after creating the integration. You find them under Configuration > General settings in the Features section.
-
A new integration does not exchange any data automatically yet. This only happens when you activate the features in the workflows, select the mode Production in the general settings, and turn on Channel active.
-
The integration does not adopt existing products from WooCommerce. If you want to bring product data from your shop to Xentral, use the CSV import, see the article Importing data via CSV import.
-
If the connection test fails, check the URL, whether you copied the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret completely, and whether the key has the Read/Write permission. If in doubt, generate a new key.
