The Advanced address search feature is designed for users who need detailed search and evaluation capabilities beyond the standard address filter. In many cases, the basic search in the Sell > Contacts module is sufficient for everyday work. Advanced search is recommended when there are large amounts of data for which more precise filter criteria are required.
Note
The advanced address search is not a separate module in Xentral, but a tab within the Contacts module, and is used solely to provide additional columns and filtering capabilities for the address master data.
You can open the advanced address search by first navigating to Sell > Contacts and then opening the Advanced address search tab. Alternatively, you can use the Smart Search to search for the term Address search extended and open the module.
Global search:
The global search is carried out via the Search field on the left above the table.
If you enter a term here, this term is searched for across columns in all address records. Partial terms are also permitted. As a result, all customer and supplier records containing the search term are displayed.
Column search:
For column-based search, enter your search term directly in the search box below the respective column header.
The filtering refers exclusively to this column, with partial terms also being permitted. The result shows all records that contain the search term in the corresponding column.
Tip
Click the on the pencil icon in the Menu column to open and customize individual customer or supplier address data directly, if needed.
Compared to the standard address filter in the Sell > Contacts module, the advanced search in the Advanced address search tab includes an additional column, which significantly expands the filter base and allows for more targeted queries, such as for internal organizational structures or communication data.
The following table provides a list of available search fields in default search and advanced address search.

The column is displayed or hidden directly in the table. No further steps are necessary.
You can use the advanced address search not only to filter and search for address data, but also to export address data if the data in the address overview in the Sell > Contacts menu is not sufficient for your use case. Imagine you want to export all existing address data from Xentral, including special information such as the address addition and email address. The advanced address search offers you the choice between the formats CSV, Excel and PDF, so you can export and further process the information you want with just a few clicks.
Important
Before exporting, make sure that all columns with the required information are displayed in the table. Otherwise, this information will not be included in the export. We explained how to display columns in chapter Displaying additional columns in the advanced address search.
Follow these steps to export address data using the advanced address search.
-
Open the Sell > Contacts menu.
-
Open the Advanced address search tab.
-
Click on Tools on the right above the table.
-
Select the desired export format. The formats CSV, Excel and PDF are available.
The export is started. You can then open the downloaded file on your computer and process it in external tools if necessary.
