Reservations can be made for individual large sales orders or for the entire product. So you can control whether you want to include all open incoming sales orders or only reserve stock for large B2B deliveries, e.g. pallet deliveries or long-term large orders.
You can prioritize reservations directly in the sales order. To do this, click on the Action menu at the top right and select Reserve all products. The products from this one sales order are thus reserved.
Reservations for each product are displayed in the Warehouse tab under Sell > Products > Open product Here, you can delete reservations and, if necessary, reset them via the corresponding sales order.
In this tab, you will find reservations of open sales orders and also of sales orders that are currently actively processed in logistics, the reservation of which will still be booked out in the process step due to the actual warehouse write-off (e.g. if a sales order has been continued as a delivery note, but the products have not yet been delivered was booked out by the customer and picked).
Note
Attention: If you delete reservations while automatic logistics processes are still running, interim sales may occur; the products will be released again for a moment when the reservation is deleted.
Tip: You can also serve important major customers via a separate warehouse or a replenishment storage location to ensure that stock is managed and maintained separately and will not be used for sales orders from any of your other sales channels.
You can also set reservations automatically system-wide. The auto-shipping process immediately reassigns the reservations in ascending order, with sales orders created first being reserved first.
The reservations also include sales orders that have not yet reached logistics or sales orders that have not yet been completely completed. The reserved products remain there until the products have actually been booked out of the warehouse manually or via auto-shipment in a process.
Note
Calculation and feedback of the inventory: The reservations are included in the number of possible “sellable products” and deducted from the inventory quantity for the shop. This means that if you have 10 products in stock and 2 of them are already reserved in a sales order, 8 products will be reported back to your shop. Your actual inventory quantity is reduced by the reserved products because these products are already blocked for sales orders.
You can set automatic reservation for each sales channel. To do this, use the Smart Search to open the Projects module and open the desired project. Then, open the Settings tab and click on Logistics / Shipping. Scroll down until you reach the Options section and activate the option Auto reservation in warehouse. For sales orders in this project, all products are reserved directly in the warehouse after the sales order has been released.
