Xentral offers their cloud services through Amazon Web Services (AWS). The Xentral cloud servers - excluding the US instances - are located in Frankfurt am Main.
Note
The Xentral cloud is intended to run the software. Xentral does not provide a server where you can store files via Xentral transfer module and from which other programs can retrieve this data. For this, you need a separate FTP server, which can also be accessed by the fulfiller.
Our cloud services provide guaranteed accessibility of 99.5% per year (EC2 SLA from AWS). They feature support for operation by Xentral and a data center in Frankfurt which is ISO 27001 and ISO 27018 certified (Amazon AWS).
Note
For performance and security reasons, access to local server directories or to the database is not possible.
All Xentral clouds are subject to a strict security concept. The servers of the customers have no direct connection to the Internet. They are located in so-called VPC (VPN) zones and have no fixed IP addresses. Access is only via https through a load balancer, which in turn does not accept any other traffic. Thus the servers are well protected against hacker attacks. The databases do not have any network port open, but are only accessible for the local PHP software. Furthermore the servers are secured by the firewall.
To protect you from data loss, a daily backup of the instances takes place. This can be restored up to seven days later. When an instance is deleted, we keep a final snapshot of the instance for 2-3 months, in case the customer wants to resume the instance.
If the cloud instance is not accessible, it may be because your update did not go through cleanly.
Proceed as follows:
-
In this case, call the following page: MYURL/update.php. Instead of "MYURL" enter your URL.
-
Log in and run the update again. After that the instance should be available again.
No, this is not possible. For security reasons and to protect data integrity, we cannot give you access to the database. However, you can view the data from your database in your xentral system in the "Database View" module (My Area > My Apps or via Super Search).
Due to freely scalable resources in our cloud, we cannot give out the IP address of the cloud. If there is no other way, except whitelisting the IP, then you have to check the access log of the server you want to transfer to and find out the current IP.
Note
It is possible that the IP changes per request - depending on the load on our cloud.
This process should be automated as much as possible, because this IP can change often (per request).
