In NextGen design: Settings > Activate Advances Settings > Inventory & Fulfillment > Pick list profiles
In the classic design: App Center > Fulfillment > Pick list profiles
The Pick list profiles app optimizes the picking process. This is made possible by the use of rule sets, which further refine the default rules applied when creating pick lists. Thus Pick list profiles extends the logistics process defined in the projects.
The overview tab shows all the pick lists that have been created based on defined rule sets.
By clicking the Recalculate button you can create the various pick lists manually. This can be done for a single rule set or for all rule sets. Pick lists in the in queue tab are transferred to the auto-shipping logistics process via the Batches process starter.
Important
You can use either the Batches process starter or the autoversand_plus (auto-shipping plus) process starter. Both apps process sales orders into delivery notes and using them at the same time would lead to conflicts.
If you want to use the delivery handover tab for manual auto-dispatch, you need to deactivate the Batches process starter in the process starter app. You can find the app in the advanced settings. Additionally you have to remove existing picklist entries from the Picklist profiles app.
You can create pick lists based on various characteristics:
-
Based on quantitative characteristics (weight, volume)
-
Based on different logic levels (product > order > picking list)
You can also transfer individual pick lists to the queue whereby the first item on the list is transferred. If you want to use this option, click the single button. By clicking all, all pick lists based on the rule set are transferred.
The following section explains how pick lists are generated step-by-step. First you must define the picking rules for the generation of pick lists in the Definition tab.
Then select the rule sets that you want to use for the calculation in the overview.
Start the calculation by clicking Recalculate. After the calculation, the orders found based on the selected rule sets are displayed at the bottom of the list. The picking run number for each order is displayed in the Batch column. You can click the Single or All button to manually process the batches.
The generated picking run is transferred to the In queue tab where it awaits processing by the process starter. The required process starter is called Batches and can be run and set in the Process Starter module (Administration > System > Process starter).
The process starter will process all the picking runs in the queue automatically. It is a bit different if the rule sets are also set to automatic. At the time the rule sets take effect, the process starter would recalculate everything and automatically push it through to auto-shipping. Depending on the project settings you can then perform multi-order picking or print the pick list, among other things. For this purpose you can, for example, select the Multi-order picking with a dispatch center option from the Quick selection of picking procedures in the project (Project > Settings tab > Logistics/ shipping). In addition you can define individual settings such as picking procedures. This will result in the fully automated generation of pick lists that will supply the logistics department with pick lists around the clock.
In the Definition tab you can define rule sets and various settings for each rule set. First, an overview of the defined rule sets is displayed. Please note that orders can only be included once in a pick list under a specific rule set. The selection of the rule set is made based on the rating and the fulfillment of criteria of the individual rule sets. By selecting the Active check box, the rules including the process starter are applied.
Note
Do not use the Pick list profiles app for manual auto-dispatch, otherwise correct processing of the orders/ pick lists cannot be guaranteed.
Please provide the following information in this section:
-
Designation: Enter a name for the pick list. The designation is used for internal purposes.
-
Active: Select the check box to activate the pick list.
-
Comment: Enter a description of the objective for internal purposes (optional).
You can define the rule set for the pick list according to the following properties:
-
Orders: Enter the minimum and maximum number of orders in the pick list. 0 or an empty field means an unlimited number of orders. If more than the maximum number of orders are ready to be shipped, several pick lists are created.
-
Max. number of pick lists : Enter the maximum number of pick lists per run.
-
Piece: Enter the minimum and maximum number of items in a pick list. 0 or an empty field means an unlimited number of items. If more than the maximum number of orders are ready for dispatch, several pick lists are created.
The following section explains in more detail how pick lists are generated.
This section is used to control different rule sets via the Batches process starter. By clicking on +NEW you can define new picking rules for the generation of pick lists.
-
Automat. execution: Select this check box to include the currently selected rule set in the process starter. Based on the different rule sets, the generation of pick lists can also be carried out manually.
-
Time: Specify the start time for the consideration of orders by the process starter for the respective rule set.
-
Sequence: Specify the absolute sequence of all rule sets when several rule sets are executed simultaneously, first 1, then 2, etc.
You can define the rule set for orders according to the following properties:
-
Positions: Only orders with a product number between the specified values are used for the pick list. 0 or empty means an unlimited number of items. You can only use integral values for the items.
-
Weight: Only orders with a total item weight between the specified values are used for the pick list. 0 or empty means an unlimited weight. You can use floating-point numbers for the items.
-
Volume: Only orders with a total item volume between the specified values are used for the pick list. 0 or empty means an unlimited volume. Product volumes that have not been maintained are not considered. These volumes are only calculated as a specific amount to give an idea for the required space. You can use floating-point numbers for the entries.
-
Fastlane: Select this check box to define fast lane products.
-
No best before/ batch: Select this check box to excludeBBD and batch products from the pick list.
You can define restrictions for each item:
-
Weight: Restricts the pick list to items with an item weight between the specified values. 0 or empty field means that there is no limitation regarding the weight. You can use floating-point numbers.
-
Volume: Restricts the pick list to items with an item volume between the specified values. 0 or empty field means that there is no limit on the volume. You can use floating-point numbers.
-
Piece: Restricts the pick list to items with a number of pieces between the specified values. 0 or empty field means that there is no limit. You must enter an integral value.
You can use the filters in this section to select criteria that must be a mandatory part of the orders in order to be included in the corresponding set of rules.
The following filters are available to you:
-
Projects
-
Product
-
Properties
-
Free fields
-
Shops
-
Delivery country
-
Category
-
Shipping method
-
Payment method
-
Group
-
Warehouse storage location
To apply a filter:
-
Click
for the relevant option. The filter table is displayed.
-
Click
to enter a new criteria. The new criteria is displayed in the filter table. The blue check mark means it is automatically activated.
-
Search for or enter the criteria you want to apply in the field displayed.
-
Click Save.
The selected criteria is displayed both in the filter table and in the Filter orders section for the relevant option.
You can include several projects in one pick list using the above mentioned filters. As the projects might have different printer settings, you have to select which printer settings should be used when printing the pick list. In the Printer settings from project field select the project that includes the printer settings you want to use to print the pick lists.
Select the Skip box confirmation check box to skip the box confirmations during multi-order picking. See Multi-order picking - is only used in this rule set.
