Migrating your eBay integration to Xentral Connect – how it works

Why this update matters

Xentral is migrating the eBay integration to Xentral Connect.

The new interface replaces the legacy Shopimporter and eBay App for the core functions: order import, tracking feedback, inventory synchronization, and price transfer. Connect is easier to maintain, more stable, and forms the foundation for future enhancements to the eBay integration.

You will receive timely notification from us about your planned migration date.

What you need to do (one step)

To start the monitoring phase and prepare your migration, you need to authenticate your eBay account with Xentral Connect once.

  • Effort: a few minutes

  • Just a few clicks

  • All further technical steps are handled by Xentral in the background

  • Your ongoing operations remain fully unaffected

Important if you have multiple eBay integrations

If you use multiple legacy importers for eBay, all of them will be migrated at the same time. A partial migration of individual importers is not possible.

How the migration works

  1. Announcement: You receive a message from us with the planned migration date.

  2. Authentication: You connect your eBay account to Xentral Connect (one-time step, instructions are included in the message).

  3. Monitoring (~2 weeks): Xentral checks whether all data is being transferred correctly. No action is required from you during this time.

  4. Migration: On the announced date, Xentral migrates your integration to Connect. Your day-to-day operations remain unchanged.

Checklist: What to check before your migration

Go through these items before your migration starts:

  • Check payment method: Make sure the payment method (e.g. prepayment) is correctly configured.

  • Mark discount items: All items used as discounts must be marked as discount items in Xentral.

  • Mark shipping items: Shipping items must be marked as shipping items. Do not enter a sales price for them.

  • Check pseudo-stock formula:

    • Using the same formula for all shops and marketplaces? → Create a Flow for this.

    • Using different formulas per shop or marketplace? → Contact your Xentral representative before the migration starts. An automated solution via the API is not currently available.

  • Check external numbers: Make sure the eBay external numbers are correctly stored:

    • Matrix items: the eBay listing item number

    • Variants: the eBay SKU

Important notes

Do not rename the legacy Shopimporter

Caution

The name of your existing eBay Shopimporter in Xentral must not be changed. Renaming it will cause issues with tracking feedback.

The name of the new Connect importer can be chosen freely – ideally identical to the existing name. If you want to add a prefix such as "Old" or "New", apply it only to the Connect importer, not to the legacy importer.

Check your shipping carrier mapping

Note

eBay does not accept certain carrier names. Check your shipping carrier mapping after the migration:

  • DHL is not accepted by the eBay API – the correct value is DeutschePost

  • Check all carrier names stored in Xentral against the values accepted by eBay.

Delivery block on address

Note

An active delivery block on a customer address prevents document creation – including invoices. If orders are not being processed after the migration, check the delivery block on the relevant address as a first step.

What’s coming next

eBay listing – managing and transferring items from Xentral to eBay – will be replaced in a later step via the new feed management feature. You will receive separate information as soon as this feature becomes available.
