If you import a lot of E-commerce orders into your Xentral every day, it can happen again and again that you cannot get a label in logistics directly at the packing table or in the parcel stamp batch printing because the address data has been entered incorrectly.
The address verification (= address validation) checks your sales order addresses according to standards and shows you the incorrect addresses in the sales order overview as a traffic light symbol even before the handover to logistics.
The following functions are available to you:
-
Automatic check of the standards for a correct address so your logistics team no longer wastes time.
-
Display of failed checks in the sales order summary as an order light ‘orange’. Additionally, you will receive the result of the check in the order to correct the address.
-
Approve option of an address - despite failed check.
-
Expert mode for individual technical extension of address validation and validation rules.
The following standards are being checked:
-
House number must be present and in addition to the number a text for the street.
-
Liefer Postleitzahl muss eine 4,5-stellige Nummer sein (Germany und Austria).
-
Packing station, postal office or parcel shop must be in the appropriate fields and a 6-10 digit number for e.g. packing station must also be entered.
Address validation can be found in Settings > Warehouse & Logistics > Logistics > Address Validation, or you can enter address validation in Smart Search >.
-
Check the box for ‘Active’.
-
Check the box for ‘Deactivate address validation in address’ and select a ‘free field for deactivation’. Define this free field as a checkbox so that you can check an address for manual sharing later.
-
Click ‘Save’.
-
If no project is defined in the activation for projects, the address check for all sales channels/ logistics channels (= projects) takes effect.
-
If a project is entered, the address validation will only take effect for that project and any project added later in that list.
You can add a project via ‘New entry’ and delete it via X.
The Address Validation function is displayed in the sales order summary with the following traffic light icon: . Here you can immediately see which jobs still need an address correction.
green traffic light icon: successful address verification, the sales order is released for address validation for logistics.
Tip
The sales order is processed in the usual logistics workflow.
orange traffic light icon: failed address verification, the sales order is not automatically handed over to logistics.
Warning
The sales order is blocked for the logistics/ shipping process and requires a correction of the address data (or a manual release via the customer address).
If the address check fails, you will receive an error message in the sales order indicating which check was not successful. You can post-process and ‘save’ the address to turn the traffic light to green, e.g. by adding the packing station number.
Note
Note that the delivery address is decisive for the stamp printing. If your customer has only provided one address, you can edit the general address. If the delivery address is different, you can edit the delivery address.
You can also deactivate validation for an address by clicking on the customer number in the sales order and manually validating the address via your free field input, see above.
In expert mode, you can customize or expand the rules for address verification, e.g., you can add more countries or expand the terms for other service providers' parcel shops.
Note
This setting requires appropriate technical interface knowledge or configuration, if any. You may need technical support in setting up your workflow and/or configuration support in setting workflows, shipping rules, and validation rules.
