Keep your Xentral account secure by regularly updating your password and login details. This article explains step by step how to change your password and what requirements it must meet.
In your user account settings, you can change your password if you want to update or reset it.

Log in to Xentral.

Click on the user icon in the top right corner.

Click on Account settings and then on Email and password.

Click on Request password change.
You will receive an email with a secure link that you can use to set or change your password.
Important
Open the link in the email. If the email does not appear in your inbox, also check your spam folder.
In your user account settings, you can also change the email address associated with your account to update it for login and system notifications.
In Xentral, each user can independently change their own email address at any time. Administrators cannot perform this step.

Update the email address used for your Xentral login and system notifications.

After the change, log in to Xentral again with the new address.
Caution
This change also affects logins with this email address in other Xentral instances and resets Social Logins (e.g., Google).
After several failed login attempts (incorrect password or wrong email address), your Xentral user account is automatically locked.
Important
Wait 5 minutes in this case – login is usually possible again after that. The steps below offer additional assistance.
Still unable to log in to Xentral? There are two possible causes:

Wrong email address: Check your email address for typos. If you are unsure whether the email address is actually linked to your user account, ask the administrator to check the email address of your user account in Xentral.

Wrong password: Click on Forgot password on the login screen. You will receive an email with a secure link that you can use to set or change your password.
Tip
Did the email not arrive? Ask your team’s admin to check the email address stored for you in Xentral.
How an admin checks a user’s email address:

Use the Smart Search to open the Users module.

Open the relevant user by clicking on the pencil icon.

Open the User settings tab.

Check which email address is stored in the Email field. Share this email address with the employee so they can make sure the correct address is used for login.
Important
Note that as an administrator, you explicitly cannot change a user’s email address. Only the user themselves can do this.
