You can offer store pick-up to your customers by setting up and using the shipping method Selbstabholer in Xentral. In this case, your customer places an order via your online store or another sales channel. Afterwards, the sales order is imported in Xentral and the products are packed in your logistics department. Then, the products are placed at a designated pick-up location. Your customer is informed via email as soon as the products have been packed and the package scanned. You can customize the content of this automatic email and add the address of your store and the opening hours, if desired.
Note
Note the following prerequisites for sending a pick-up notification:

Your customer has provided you with their email address which is stored in the sales order and the delivery note.

The shipping method Selbstabholer is set up and activated in Xentral.

The products are packed using a logistics process and marked as completed during the final step at the packing table.
To carry out store pick-up by customers with Xentral, you need a sales order with the shipping method Selbstabholer that you can either hand over to your logistics department or continue as a delivery note manually.
First, you create the shipping method Selbstabholer and carry out the necessary settings. To do so, proceed as follows.

Use the Smart Search to search for Shipping methods.

Click on the pencil icon to the right of the shipping method Selbstabholer.
Tip
If desired, you can also create an entirely new shipping method. To do so, click on + NEW in the upper right corner and then on Selbstabholer.
The settings for the shipping method Selbstabholer are opened.

Carry out the settings as described in the table below.

Activate this option after you have carried all the necessary settings for the shipping method. This enables you to use the shipping method productively. NoteYou can deactivate shipping methods that are no longer in use later. Note, however, that deactivated shipping methods will only be displayed in receipts that have already been created. In newly created receipts and in user interfaces such as the sales order overview or in the customer data, a deactivated shipping method is no longer available for selection. You can also delete shipping methods. However, this will also delete the shipping history. Therefore, you should only delete incorrectly created shipping methods that you have not used productively. |

No postage check |
Select the option No postage check. In case of store pick-up, the products are not shipped, meaning that no shipping costs need to be added to the sales order. |

Printer shipping label |
This setting is normally used to select the default printer to be used for printing the shipping labels for the shipping method. ImportantIn case of the shipping method Store pick-up, no shipping labels are printed since customers pick up their products themselves. Thus, make no selection here. |

This setting is normally used to select the default printer to be used for printing the export documents (in case of dutiable shipments) for the shipping method. ImportantIn case of the shipping method Store pick-up, no export shipping is carried out since customers pick up their products themselves. Thus, make no selection here. |

Shipping email to buyer |
This setting allows you to determine how the email containing the tracking information for the sales order is sent to your customers. Select the option Default behavior from the drop-down menu. This way, Xentral automatically applies the default process for store pick-up. TipIn case you want to use a custom or more complex process, you can also select the option Custom text template here. In this case, you select the desired text template using the subsequent setting Text template. |

Select the desired text template from the drop-down menu in case you have selected the option Custom text template for the setting Shipping email to buyer. Select the desired text template for your workflow so that emails are sent automatically sent to your customers. During a logistics process, you can complete the sales order at the packing table by clicking on Parcel is stamped, which will also send the pick-up information to your customer. This information is sent via email and consists of the business letter template of the type Selbstabholer.
Carry out the following steps so that the notification can be sent successfully:

Activation of the store pick-up email for a sales channel: Activate the store pick-up email in the project settings by opening the tab Settings > tab: Logistics/Shipping and activating the setting Self pick-up email.
Tip
If required, you can print a second copy of the invoice for a logistics process involving a packing table. To do so, activate the setting Double invoice for self-collectors and cash.

Create a business letter template of the type Selbstabholer for all projects and/or sales channels or for a specific project. In Xentral, such a template already exists by default. You can either use it directly or adjust it to your needs.

At the packing table, you receive the information that a specific parcel is packed for store pick-up. No shipping label will be displayed or printed. After clicking on Parcel is stamped, the email will be sent to the customer who will subsequently pick up their order.
Thus, the parcel is not handed over to a shipping service provider, but stored at an internal location until it is picked up by the customer.
