Smart Search combines the standard search with the option to create new objects in Xentral. It also offers improved accessibility through various use of keyboard shortcuts.
You can access Smart Search from the homepage screen or via the keyboard shortcut ⌘ K for macOS, or Ctrl K for Windows. You can search for any contact, document, app, or setting in Xentral. Smart Search saves and displays the most recent searches which you can access immediately. Use ↑ ↓ arrows to navigate your search results, and press Enter to open it.
Some points to note when using Smart Search:
You can use operators + and - for specifying search terms:
-
To specify the search term as mandatory (must match) add the + sign before the search term with no space in between. For example +beer.
-
To exclude the search term (must not match) add the - sign before the search term with no space in between. For example, -beer.
-
the + and - operators refer only to the term directly following the operator. If you want the operator to refer to several terms, you must prepend each term by this operator.
You can additionally narrow down your search by adding filters. To add filters, press # and select the objects you want to include in your search. For example, adding the #Products filter will only include search results from this group. Once you've set your filters, enter the object's name in the Search field.
