Auto-shipping is the default method to start the shipping process in Xentral. During auto-shipping, a delivery note and an invoice are created for sales orders. Afterwards, the products are taken from the warehouse.
Tip
If required, you can create either only an invoice or a delivery note during auto-shipping. To do so, carry out the respective settings in the online shop interface that you are using. Note that this setting varies depending on the interface.
You can also determine per customer with exact receipts should be created during auto-shipping. To do so, open the menu Sell > Contacts in Xentral and open the desired address. Then, open the tab Terms of payment/taxation and select the desired option in the drop-down menu Create receipts in auto-shipping.
Afterwards, you can continue the shipping process in the Stock > Dispatch center menu. If you are you working with a fulfillment service provider, all required order information will be transferred to the third-party system as soon is auto-shipping is triggered.
Important
Orders can only be transferred to auto-shipping as soon as all symbols of the order status indicator are green and if the order is in the status Released.
Proceed as described below to transfer a single order to auto-shipping:

Open the menu Sell > Sales Orders.

Open a sales order by clicking on the table entry of the order.
Optional: Open the detail view of the order by clicking on the arrow icon on the left side of the order.
The sales order is opened.

Open the drop-down menuAction at the top right.

Klick on Auto dispatch: hand over to dispatch center.

Confirm the security query by clicking on Ok.
The order is transferred to auto-shipping and the page is reloaded.
If needed, you can transfer several orders to auto-shipping at the same time with only one step. For this purpose, Xentral shows you an overview of all orders that are ready for auto-shipping.
Proceed as described below to display this overview and select the desired orders for auto-shipping.

Open the menu Sell > Sales Orders > Tab: Delivery handover.
A list of all orders that are ready for auto-shipping is displayed.

Select the orders that you wish to hand over to auto-shipping by selecting them via the checkboxes to the left.
Tip
The sales order list offers you a variety of filters and selections. More precise information is available in this chapter.

In the drop-down menuBulk batch processing at the lower left, select the option Auto-shipping. Optionally, click on Auto-shipping (with picking label). This way, you can add a label to your sales order that allows you to easily identify the order within the picking run during later processing.

Click on Execute.
The selected orders are now sent to a queue and processed.
Note
If you cannot find the order in the delivery handover, this might be because the order status indicator has not been updated. Click on Calculate auto-shipping to update the order status indicator. You can also use the process autoversand_berechnung to automatically update the order status indicator in regular intervals. More information about this process can be found here.
It’s easy to lose track in case multiple orders are transferred to auto-shipping at the same time. For this reason, Xentral offers you the possibility to decide for yourself which order information should be displayed.
Start by opening the menu Sell > Sales Orders > Tab: Delivery handover. Here, you can find all orders that are ready for auto-shipping. Now, carry out the following steps to adjust the information displayed in the sales order overview:

At the top right above the table, click on Columns.

Select the information that should be displayed in the sales order overview from the drop-down menu. To do so, place a check mark to the left of the respective information.

Remove the check marks to the left in case you do not want to display this particular information in the sales order overview.

The desired information will be shown or hidden immediately according to your selection. Close the drop-down menu by clicking on Columns once again.
Tip
Which types of information do you frequently need for your daily business with Xentral? Would you like to see immediately if a certain item number is included in one of the sales orders? In this case, use the instruction above to display this field in the sales order overview. This enables you to select and then transfer all orders with exactly this item number to auto-shipping by using the bulk batch processing function below the table. You can apply this principle to all available columns and make optimal use of the available filters whenever you wish to manually transfer sales orders to auto-shipping.
You can use the process autoversand_plus to fully automate the shipping process. This way, all orders with a fully green order status indicator are automatically transferred to auto-shipping in fixed intervals. However, orders are not checked again by Xentral before this transfer takes place. Thus, we recommend that you test this process before using it in your day-to-day business.

Important
We recommend that you always select the type Time in the settings of the process autoversand_plus. If you are using the type Periodically, make sure that the time interval is at least 31 minutes. In case you have selected a shorter interval, the process will not be carried out. More information on processes and their setup can be found here.
