The Supersearch allows you to search your xentral instance globally. You can query the contents of your xentral database (addresses, products, documents such as invoices, etc.) as well as find and load the modules available in your xentral instance.
To use Supersearch:
-
Enter the terms to be used in the query into the large Search entry field at the top of the main window.
-
Press ENTER.
The results will appear below the Search entry field.
Please note:
-
You can combine several terms in one search.
-
The search terms must be separated by spaces - not by commas or semicolons.
-
If you use more than one search term, the results will match at least one search term.
-
The more search terms are matched in a result, the higher the result will be ranked.
-
Available operators for specifying search terms are +, - and, ~.
-
To specify a search term as mandatory ("must be matched"), prepend the search term by + (no space in between).
-
To exclude a search term ("must not be matched"), prepend the search term by - (no space in between).
-
To specify a search term as a minor variant that should be ranked low in the results, prepend the search term by ~ (no space in between).
-
Note that the +, -, or ~ operator refers only to the term directly following the operator. If you want an operator to refer to several terms, you must prepend each term by this operator.
-
-
The following operators and options are not supported:
-
no AND, OR, NOT, NEAR
-
no placeholders such as * or ?
-
no regular expressions
-
no "quotes" for exact matches of multi-term strings
-
-
Any search term must consist of at least 3 characters, shorter search terms will be ignored.
Please note:
-
A maximum of 30 results will be listed.
-
You will be shown only results accessible to you with your current permissions.
Examples:
-
If you have permissions only for a specific project, no results from other projects will be listed.
-
If you have no permissions for reading invoices, the listed results will not contain any invoices.
-
The Supersearch is based on a so-called index that is created at regular intervals. Only the contents of the most current index can be queried. Please also read the hints about the index further below.
The following types of terms are included in the index. You can query the corresponding terms in the Supersearch.

Note
The terms in quotes in the table above are exact search terms to be entered in this exact way - for example, when you type "rechnung" into the search field, you will see invoices as results. By contrast, the terms without quotes denote searchable values - for example, when you search for addresses and enter "Miami" into the search field, you will see addresses from Miami.
xentral updates the index automatically at regular intervals. Process starters execute the automatic index update processes.
If the index is not up to date, you can update it manually at any time.
Procedure:
-
Open the Supersearch app, for example, by entering the term "supersearch" into the Supersearch field.
-
In the Supersearch app, on the right-hand side in the Actions section, click Rebuild search index.
