Table of contents
With the Item Tree module, you can build a structured overview of all articles based on article categories. In addition to main article categories, it is also possible to create subcategories and filter already linked articles.
This module is particularly relevant when you want to display an overview of articles and their relationships to each other.
Overview
All article categories, as well as their subcategories, appear in the overview.
The Description field can be used to search for article categories or subcategories.
Create a new category
At the end of the tree structure, a new main category can be created via Create a new category. A new field appears on the right, where the new category can be named and created via Save. The categories in the item tree are sorted alphabetically, i.e. the order cannot be changed here.
Note: This category also appears under Administration > Settings > Article Categories. Viceversa, article categories created there will also be displayed as the main category in the Item Tree.
To create a new subcategory, click on a main category in the Item Tree. After that, a name for it can be assigned on the right under New subcategory and created via Save.
Delete categories
By clicking on a category in the Item Tree, it can be deleted under settings. Note that this will also delete the associated subcategories.
Assign categories to an article
Under Master data > Articles, main and subcategories can be assigned to an article in the Item Tree tab. The Activate editing button can be used to select the different categories to which the article should be assigned. Deactivate editing saves the changes.
Assign categories by importing articles
It is also possible to assign structures in the item tree via import for several at once. The categories and the item tree can be imported separately, if required. Instructions on how to do this can be found here: Importing the Item Tree.
Show item tree in a product
In the basic settings there is the possibility to display the item tree directly in the product overview (Master data > Products). To do this, go to Administration > System > Basic Settings > System and check the option Overview of item tree in the Product section.
