Mobile warehouse management allows you to manage your warehouse on the move, e.g. using a tablet or mobile device.
This module offers the possibility to stock, remove or relocate merchandise in xentral. In the process, labels can be printed directly via this module during stock and removal.
This module is particularly relevant if the warehouse is or is to be managed via xentral using a mobile device.
The mobile warehouse interface makes it possible to stock, remove and relocate items using a tablet or mobile device. Various buttons are available for this in the overview:
- Stock item
- Remove item from stock
- Warehouse content
- Relocate item
- Relocate warehouse location
- Quick stock
- Quick removal from stock
- Interim warehouse relocation
- Replenishment warehouse
The button "Stock item" can be used to stock items and the button "Remove item" can be used to remove items from the warehouse. It is necessary to specify the corresponding warehouse location and, depending on the item, the batch, the serial number and the best-before date. When stocking via the "Stock item" button, the controlled warehouse is temporarily stored. The following example shows the stocking process; the removal process works in the same way.
Clicking on the "Stock item" button in the overview opens a new page where you can specify the item to be stocked.
Via "Next" the warehouse location must be specified in the next step. In addition, an overview of all existing items with the warehouse, the batch and the serial number appears here.
Then the quantity and, depending on the item, the batch, serial numbers and best-before date are requested.
The following overview can then be used to check the information for correctness:
Then a reason for the stocking must be entered before the transaction can be posted.
Then, the labels for the stocked items can be printed or additional items can be stocked.
Via Warehouse content, items can be stocked or removed by first selecting a warehouse and then only displaying items that are stocked in this warehouse. In the column "Menu", items can be stocked via the green plus and removed from stock via the red minus. The arrow can be used to jump to the item master.
If, for example, an item is stocked via the green plus, the following page appears:
As with normal stocking, the quantity and, depending on the article, the batch, the serial numbers and the best-before date must be specified here. The subsequent steps are identical to those for normal stocking.
The button "Relocate item" can be used to relocate items from one warehouse to another. To do this, first select the warehouse location where the item is currently located and then the warehouse location to which it is to be relocated. In addition, the item and the quantity must be specified. It should be noted that neither the batch, the serial numbers, nor the best-before date are transferred.
Relocate warehouse location
The button "Transfer warehouse location" can be used to transfer all items that are located in one warehouse location to another. First the source warehouse and then the destination warehouse must be specified. Please note that the serial numbers are not transferred during the relocation.
Quick stock and remove items
Note: This option is available only for standard stock items. It does not work with items that have serial numbers, batches and MHDs. When storing via the "Quick stock" button, in contrast to normal item storage, the quantity is stored temporarily, not the controlled warehouse.
Items and warehouse location can be entered manually or recorded via scanner.
Without selecting the warehouse location, the item is always taken from the warehouse location where the stock is the lowest during fast retrieval. In the case of quick stock, the item is taken from the shelf location with the highest stock.
Note: The warehouse characteristics for quick stock and removal can be selected via the settings:
Information, which warehouse is drawn in special constellations (default setting):
- Item not in stock, no standard warehouse stored in the item → The warehouse location for which no check mark is set in the storage type will be used
- Item not in stock, standard warehouse stored in the item → The standard warehouse is selected
- Item in stock in warehouseA, no standard warehouse defined in the item → WarehouseA will be used
- Item in stock in warehouseA, standard warehouse stored in the item → The standard warehouse is used
The button "Relocate intermediate warehouse" can be used to relocate items that are stored in the intermediate warehouse to another warehouse. In the first step, the item to be transferred must be specified.
The next step is to enter the quantity.
The last step is to select the warehouse location.
The replenishment warehouse posting can be used to relocate items from a replenishment warehouse to, for example: a standard warehouse. Prerequisites that must be fulfilled in order for items to be displayed in this list follow later in this article under "Prerequisites for a replenishment warehouse entry".
The "Replenishment warehouse" button displays an overview of all items to be replenished.
The next step is to enter the quantity.
Then the warehouse location must be specified.
Finally, an overview in which the stock relocation can be posted appears.
In order for items to appear in the overview under "Replenishment warehouse", various requirements must be met:
- Existence of a replenishment warehouse
- Define warehouse info in the item
- Quantity stored in replenishment warehouse
- Order exists for which the quantity exceeds the quantity in the standard warehouse
- Item now appears in the replenishment warehouse list
- Item then appears in replenishment warehouse
1. Existence of a replenishment warehouse
In order for an item to be relocated from one replenishment warehouse to another, a replenishment warehouse must exist in the first place. This can be created under Warehousing & Logistics → Warehouse management. Under the "Details" tab, a name must then be assigned to the warehouse (e.g. replenishment warehouse). Then a new shelf must be created under the "Shelves" tab (e.g. ShelfReplenishment). It is important that the checkbox under Warehouse type is set for Replenishment warehouse, as this is the only way xentral can recognize the newly created warehouse as a replenishment warehouse.
2. Define warehouse info in the item
A standard warehouse must be defined in the item, which is not the replenishment warehouse, but any other.
3. Quantity stored in replenishment warehouse
Another prerequisite is that a quantity is stored in the replenishment warehouse that can be accessed if the required quantity exceeds the available quantity in the standard warehouse. Via the button "Place item in new warehouse location" items can be placed in storage manually.
4. Order exists for which the quantity exceeds the quantity of the standard warehouse
In order for there to be a need for an item to be relocated from one replenishment warehouse to another, the demand for an item must be greater than the quantity available in the standard warehouse. This is possible, for example, through an order. In the example below, the hexagon nut M10 is required 200 times for an order, but only 80 of these are available in the standard warehouse. For the remaining 120 pieces, the replenishment stock is used.
Item now appears in the replenishment warehouse list.
If the above requirements have been met, the required items from the replenishment warehouses will appear under Warehousing and Logistics → Warehouse management → Replenishment warehouse list.
Item then appears in replenishment warehouse.
If the above requirements have been met, the required items from the replenishment warehouses will appear under mobile warehouse management → replenishment warehouses.
Storage characteristics for quick stock/removal can be configured in the settings.
