The navigation bar on the left is by default populated with the most commonly used features of Xentral and can be used to quickly navigate the software. But if you have many different kinds of users, not every feature is important to everyone, e.g., a warehouse worker usually does not need to access the accounting apps. For this reason Xentral allows every user to configure their own navigation bar and customize it to their liking.
This feature has the following functionalities:
-
Add or remove apps from the navigation
-
Rearrange menu entries by drag and drop
-
Consistent navigation across devices and browsers
You can find the app under Administration menu > Account settings > Navbar configuration.
The configuration menu shows you most of the available apps in Xentral. They are categorized in six categories: Sell, Stock, Buy, Accounting, Team, and Analytics. The apps are bound to these categories, i.e. you can't move an Analytics app into the Sell category.
You have the following options to configure the navigation bar:
-
Adding or removing apps: Select an app to display it in the navigation bar, deselecting an app will remove it. If you remove all apps from a category, the category will not be displayed in the navigation bar anymore.
-
Rearranging categories and apps: You can rearrange your categories and apps into an order of your liking by dragging them at this spot and dropping them at your desired location.
When you have finished configuring your navigation, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save on the right side. A green confirmation message appears. The changes will take effect as soon as you refresh your browser.
You can restore the default navigation bar at any point by clicking Reset to defaults on the bottom left and then clicking Save.
In the following example all possible changes should be applied to the navigation bar. In the following screen you can see the default configuration:
We will now remove the Analytics category and exchange the order of the Team and Accounting categories. In the Team category, we will remove the Follow ups and Calendar apps and put the Ticket system as our first entry. After saving and then refreshing the browser, we get the following result:
The changes to the navigation bar can be seen on the left side.
